Finding Faith on the Race Track

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) represents one of the fastest growing sports in North America, and one of NASCAR's newest fans is Dr. James Dobson, who recently went to the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama to watch the National Day of Prayer race car take the track. Dr. Dobson and his wife, Shirley, share their excitement about the National Day of Prayer's involvement in NASCAR. Joining the conversation is Joe Nemechek, who drove the "National Day of Prayer," and Joe Garone, a manager of the NDP racing team. In addition, Billy Mauldin describes how Christian faith plays a role in NASCAR and how his organization, Motor Racing Outreach, is working to share the Gospel with the racing community and its fans. "These fans are passionate about this sport; they love it. And we're hoping ... [to use] NASCAR as a bridge into their lives [and] redirect that passion to the person of Christ."

I love NASCAR and I love The Lord too, so this sounds like it could be a very interesting broadcast of Focus On The Family.
